a XXXmas party in memory of Alkis
Alkis Efthimiadis is a gay icon in the Athens night life. Unfortunately he is not with us anymore. For those who are not familiar with the Athens gay scene, Alkis is credited for bringing a new era to all of us who were craving to see something different from the existing conservative, hidden gay scene. In 1994 he opened Factory club with Gregory Vallianatos. Factory was the most underground gay club in Greece and maybe in Europe. We all have unforgetable nights in Factory. This Saturday night Factory in Gazi is organizing a XXXmas party. We are all gonna be there. Alkis wishes us to have fun.

for history's sake, here's the correct data:
Factory begun as a series of parties on the move in the city in 1993 that took place mainly in Club Tessera, Pirews st, and the Loft in plateia Aswmatwn. later on Factory found its own space in Benaki st and opened its doors to the thrilled beyond words public in November of that same year. Christmas '93 was the most memorable christmas of my life and there are hundreds of people, not to speak of thousands, that can attest to that same, plain truth.
the rest is history.
this year's christmas is going to be the 13th of the Factory Club's Christmas Parties- mind you i shelter no prejudice for this number- but Alkis, the very Soul and quintessence of Factory, is not going to be physically with us.
He is going to be alive though for as long as we live, in our Heart. and there is no two ways about it!
my tears of inconsolable sorrow will be mixed with tears of JOY, i promise, because that's the way the dearest of all my friends, the one to whom I owe the happiest moments of my life, would like it to be.
and so it will be.
Yeah I remember the parties in 93 but I mentioned 1994 because it moved to a permanent space for a couple of years...isnt it so? It is amazing that today I got 3 calls from people that did not know that Alkis has died-they probably read this.
