The International Portrait Gallery is a collection of photographs of objects, environments and situations with hidden personalities and anthropomorphic qualities. Sometimes you are walking down the street or staring out the window and suddenly the objects in front of you seem to be smiling at you, or even be angry. These abbreviated emotions, similar to the text based combination of characters called emoticons, comprise an ongoing collection of contemporary portraiture in the time of abbreviated online comminication. The ongoing IPG project was established in early 2009, under the auspices of the non-profit Angelo Foundation.
